The Opportunity –  Area Forester

These is an excellent opportunity for a forestry professional who has the desire to work for a family-owned forest products company and grow their careers in the forest industry.

The Area Forester will be part of the larger Sinclar Group Woodlands team and will have various levels of responsibilities in our operations including safety, First Nation relations, community relations, operational planning, contractor management, and financial controls. With demonstrated professionalism and a steadfast commitment to safety as a priority, successful candidates will be able to take initiative, work both independently and collaboratively, manage priorities, time, and possess excellent communication skills.

The Area Forester should have at least 5 years of relevant forestry experience and be a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist.  This position will appeal to those that want the responsibility of scheduling and supervising operations under company tenures and First Nation agreements and partnerships for wood supply for our manufacturing facilities.

Successful candidates will be given opportunities to expand their experience in addition to roles commensurate with their qualifications.  These positions are flexible, providing opportunity for involvement in many aspects of the business.

Note: Successful candidates can reside in either of the three communities in which we operate, Prince George, Vanderhoof, and Fort St James.
