The Opportunity – Trades
Certified Millwright
As part of our Maintenance team, the Certified Millwright is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation & modification of all sawmill related equipment to safely maximize, uptime, quality and productivity. As the successful candidate, you are a skilled individual that is passionate about your chosen career. In addition to troubleshooting process maintenance issues, you are innovative in preventative maintenance practices with an ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and priorities. As someone who understands the utmost importance of safety, you will also contribute to a healthy and respectful work environment.
Shift: Various Shifts Available
Qualifications:
- Journeyman (Interprovincial Red Seal) Millwright certification OR BC Certified
- Demonstrated commitment to safety as a priority
- Strong background in heavy industry and/or construction
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Positive interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- High energy and initiative
- Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process is an asset as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability
Certified Electrician
Various Shifts: Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday to support afternoon or graveyards shifts.
With your enthusiastic approach and focus on results, you will contribute to the positive culture and supportive work environment within our company. Using your specialized knowledge of local and provincial electrical code and safety procedures, you will be responsible for controlling, installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing all electrical systems on Apollo facilities.
Working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) along with other communication protocols required for controller networking, you will install and make modifications to fixtures and equipment, carry out preventative maintenance and install cabling, ensuring all electrical work performed meets all applicable industry regulatory safety and quality standards. You will interpret, clarify, document and convey information in graphic, written and verbal formats to technical and non-technical audiences and participate in coordinating electrical projects.
You will possess a Red Seal Electrician certification and have relevant experience in an industrial maintenance environment. With a firm and steadfast commitment to safety, you demonstrate strong and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and work cooperatively within your immediate team and across the organization. Industry experience in lumber or manufacturing and familiarity with PLC and Variable Frequency Drives are assets.
Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic
As part of our Maintenance team, the Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all site related mobile equipment to safely maximize, uptime, quality and productivity. As the successful candidate, you are a skilled individual that is passionate about your chosen career. In addition to troubleshooting process maintenance issues, you are innovative in preventative maintenance practices with an ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and priorities. As someone who understands the utmost importance of safety, you will also contribute to a healthy and respectful work environment.
Qualifications:
