Greg is a third-generation leader of Sinclar. Born and raised in Prince George, Greg is the grandson of co-founder Bob Stewart. To Greg, Sinclar is not just a business to grow but a way to strengthen BC’s economy and benefit the communities in which we live, work and play.
A Chemical Engineering graduate of the University of British Columbia, Greg began his career working at Teck Cominco’s metallurgical facility in Trail, BC. After completing an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 2005, Greg returned to Prince George to work for the family business. Greg spent his first three years leading Winton Homes, where he gained valuable experience in the retail and engineering side of the business before transitioning to lead the company as president in 2009.
In addition to his role at Sinclar, Greg serves as Chair of the Wood WORKS! BC provincial steering committee, a Governor at the University of Northern British Columbia, a Director on the Boards of the Council of Forest Industries and BC Lumber Trade Council, and Past Chair for BC Wood.
Greg lives with his wife and two daughters in Prince George, British Columbia.
Dr. Charles J. Jago PhD, Lld, OBC, MC
Dr. Jago is a long-serving community member of northern BC, providing leadership and valued guidance on the boards of several local institutions. Dr. Jago is a former President of the University of Northern British Columbia and has served on the boards of Canfor Pulp Ltd. Partnership, Initiatives Prince George, The Fraser Basin Council, The Canada West Foundation, and Partnerships BC. Dr. Jago was awarded the Order of Canada in 2005 and the Order of British Columbia in 2013 in recognition of his distinguished service to Canada and BC. He completed his doctoral studies at Cambridge University and held academic appointments in three Canadian universities for over 40 years.
Gordon is a long-time Prince George community member and son of co-founder Ivan Andersen. Gordon has been a part of the family business since 1980, starting in the sales team and growing into successive leadership roles. As the current Corporate Secretary on the Sinclar board, Gordon brings a depth of knowledge in corporate governance and operations, having served as Director since the board’s inception. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and currently serves as President of Excel Transportation Inc.and Ivan Andersen Holdings Ltd.
W. G. (Bill) Stewart
Bill, son of co-founder Bob Stewart, first joined the family business in sales and accounting following a career in business education and silviculture. After gaining progressive experience at Sinclar in marketing, transportation, and general management, Bill took on the role of President from 1998 to 2009. Bill remains a key part of Sinclar’s culture and is often heard saying: “the greatest asset of the company is the people.” Bill and his wife have raised their family in Prince George. He is actively involved in various aspects of community life, including serving on the board of the Prince George Community Foundation and volunteering with the Salvation Army.
Erik is a third generation Sinclar family member, grandson of Ivan Andersen. He was born and raised in northern BC, gaining experience on the mill floor and studying forestry. He has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Northern BC, is a Registered Professional Forester, and has a Forest Resource Technology Diploma. Erik continues to live in Prince George with his wife, son and daughter, and is a strong supporter and volunteer for youth sports in the community.
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary. Prior to joining Sinclar, Jeff served as Chief Financial Officer of DSI Underground Canada Ltd. from August 2016 until DSI’s merger with Sandvik in June 2021. He was responsible for DSI’s financial affairs, including finance and accounting, treasury, tax and banking, and credit agency relationships. Jeff brings to Sinclar’s leadership team a diverse background in the manufacturing, mining, healthcare, and technology sectors. As someone who appreciates the great outdoors, Jeff enjoys the activities the Central Interior has to offer.
